Creativity, Activity, and Service
CAS Hours
What is CAS? Well, CAS is a requirement by the International Baccalaureate Organization. It is important for every student who is an IB Diploma candidate to complete this requirement. The criteria is to complete 100 hours of community service through the two years of which the IB is completed by students. The criteria also includes completing at least 20 hours of each category of community service: activity, creativity, service.

The CAS experience is supposed to make one’s school experience wholesome and make their personality well-rounded as a student. It is a great thing to complete for IB. It is good for college interviews, essays, and applications. Not only is it rewarding academically, it is rewarding emotionally. Having to complete community service hours may push someone to do some activities that they might not have done otherwise. It can be proven that someone will continue to do the activity or at least have an amazing experience. It can also push someone to meet new people which can be very rewarding.
